Continued Greek debt negotiations rattle the market $BAC:xnys

  • Greek debt negotiations continue to drag on with the beleaguered nation failing to meet a deadline to finalize a deal with its creditors. Although negotiations are still proceeding, a failure to meet Monday’s deadline has pushed Greece closer to a potential default
  • Last nights falls come after stellar five week rally with the S&P500 up 6.7% so far in the 2012 calendar year
  • Boeing fell 1.26% after a manufacturing problem that will require repairs was found in the fuselage of the new 787 Dreamliner
  • Leading the moves on the Dow were BAC, TRV and PFE. BAC rallied 1.66% to add to recent gains while TRV and PFE fell 1.31% & 1.18%
  • DOW –0.13%, S&P500 -0.04% and NASDAQ –0.13%
  • The RBA will announce its Interest Rate policy decision today at 2:30PM AEDT with the rate currently set at 4.25%
  • EUR was weak but spiked to a 1.3140 high. AUD trades around 1.07
  • Gold closed slightly lower, down 0.3%. Crude was mixed, down 0.7%
