S&P500 closes above 1300 for the first time since July $DXc1

- US stocks were again stronger and the S&P500 managed to close above the important 1300 big figure for the first time since July. Confidence from US homebuilders and a better than expected result from Goldman Sachs helped push the market higher
- Initially the recent report from the World Bank about the potential for another financial crisis greater than the GFC weighed on markets. However sentiment improved with news that the IMF is looking to boost their coffers by over $600 billion
- Shares in Yahoo rose with the resignation of co-founder Jerry Yang. Also eBay rallied 2.54% in the aftermarket after it beat earnings
- Leading the moves on the Dow were BAC, JPM, AA, HD and HPQ each rising 4.94%, 4.67%, 2.66%, 2.61% and 2.06%
- DOW 0.78%, S&P500 1.11% and NASDAQ 1.53%
- USD has come off slightly and the EUR gained on IMF news. The AUD has continued to rise touching 1.0436. Labour data @ 11.30
- Gold finished higher on USD weakness, Crude was relatively flat
