- US equities rallied after optimism surfaced with the expectation European leaders will announce greater efforts to halt the debt crisis
- The S&P500 erased earlier losses in the final hour of trading after Nikkei reported that the G20 is considering a $600 billion IMF lending program
- Stocks trimmed gains in the final minutes as CNBC said the IMF denied the report
- Financial shares in the S&P500 continued to rally with JP Morgan leading the advance followed by Bank of America and American Express
- DOW 0.38%, S&P500 0.20% and NASDAQ –0.01%
- On the currency markets the Euro was relatively unchanged to be trading at 1.3415 this morning and the AUD is stronger at 1.0290
- Today we have unemployment numbers in Australia with the market looking for an increase of 10k jobs and an unemployment rate of 5.2%
- Gold is trading up at USD $1742 per ounce with Crude oil futures closing back at USD $100.66 per barrel
